Topi 'Harms Way' by Terra Firma is one of my top3 favourite stoner albums of all time - I love everything about it. Maybe it was due to the fact that albums such as Storm Warning just reeked too much of Black Sabbath , but they were still enjoyable records. Far from being another in the seemingly endless chain of Goat-based occult doom or whatever-the-hell-type bands, Chritus and bandmates Niklas, Findus and Kenta — on guitar, bass and drums respectively — have taken a different tack and managed to take the previously almost-completely stripmined sound of Kyuss, circa Blues For The Red Sun, and make it sound fresh and, dare I say it, fun to hear again.

I came across Elephant tree completely by goatess and liked what i heard so i purchased their vinyl and iv listened to this album almost every day since iv had it. The album may only boast eight tracks, but each one is a creaking monolith that weighs an absolute ton.

The drums stay simple as they should be, why should they be complicated when they can be slow and feelsy like that?

The quartet lineup really works here, one fuzzy guitar is enough to keep me interested.

I prefer that over the not even thirty five minutes last Vitus album, I had to listen to So Long Suckers after this one because I was still hungry. Still, the highlight of this album is the vocals, they were personally the reason I decided to check the band and I don't regret it.

Bandcamp Album of the Day Aug 15, go to album. The sound throughout is perfectly captured and tends toward goatezs huge but here it really hits the heights of spaciousness, all four members filling the sound out to colossal proportions but still maintaining perfect cohesion.

The songs are all pretty long, the album is culminating with two yoatess ass ten to twelve minutes tracks and that's totally fine with me since it's a band who knows how to put atmosphere first.
